The 10 Ingredients That You’ll Need To Know In Order To Achieve Success In Life And Business…

Hi All,

You have a dream? You want success? You need to succeed? Here’s what you need to make it happen.

I don’t like the expression keys to success. There are no locks to success that need to be opened. Success really has an open door policy and it’s up to us just to walk on in and make all our dreams come true.

There are INGREDIENTS that need to be blended and a recipe to follow to create a successful life. As in cooking everyone will always add that little something of their own to the recipe to make it special and successful.

The 10 ingredients below are to be working together for and with you at all times. They’re not to be addressed as individual ingredients to be used individually at certain times. You will find that all these ingredients will blend and overlap each other on a daily basis. The more you know about each one and how it will affect you on your success journey the stronger and more accurate you’ll be when trying to hit your targets or goals.

The following are the 10 ingredients for success:

1-Support – Everyone needs a cheerleader. Everyone needs someone to go to for advice, support and information. When the body and mind want to quit you need a voice whispering in your ear that you can and will make it. Friends, family or other professionals could make up your success support team. This is the most critical ingredient for your success journey.

2-Dreams – Everything starts here. Whatever the mind can conceive it can achieve. Don’t let anyone tell you to give up on your dreams. Make your dreams an integral part of your life.

3-Goals – We all need direction. You need to know where you’re going and when you’ll be able to get there. Goals will help you with this. Make them big goals. Don’t be afraid to set big goals. Big goals will energize and inspire you.

4-Reality – You must learn how to deal with the harsh realities of life at the current moment and at the same time keep your eye on where you want to be. Your dreams and goals will help make this happen for you.

5-Positive Expectancy – You must be able to know in your heart that whatever life throws at you it will be ok and you’ll be ok. You must embrace and have faith in the notion that every day is another chance to start fresh and fix and adjust anything that knocked you off course.

6-Emotions – Emotions are yours and they are meant to help you and guide you. You must acknowledge them all and respect them. Let your emotions have their say and question why you feel that way. You’ll feel empowered and confident once you and your emotions become allies.

7-Fear – Everyone lives with this particular emotion. Courage is not the lack of fear it’s feeling the fear and moving forward anyway.

8-Think Negative – Expect the worst and hope for the best. This attitude will never let you down. It will stimulate questions that need to be answered and it will help in keeping you safe in business and in your personal life.

9-Questions – Questions get you answers. Answers are what you need to be able to achieve success in your life. Always ask questions that start with who, what, when, where, why and how. Question everything and your chances of success increase at an incredible rate. You can never ask too many questions.

10-Action – Just move forward. Adopt the attitude of ready, fire, aim instead of ready, aim, fire and make adjustments as you travel. You can’t get to where you’re going unless you get out of the house and let opportunity bump into you.

Embrace all 10 ingredients and as you move forward build your own success support community. As I said earlier this is the most critical ingredient of all.

Having success support is about having people in your life who care about you and are loyal to you as well as having people in your life who are positive, intelligent, ethical, and ambitious. Having quality people participating in your success journey and each person enthusiastically participating is absolutely essential to your success.

Your success support team gives you feedback, helps you brainstorm new possibilities, and sets up accountability structures that keep you focused and on track. You must create a success support group who will brainstorm together with you and help you move closer to all your goals and dreams. Success Support is a significant, critical ingredient for you achieving all your goals and making your dreams come true.

Good Luck,

How To Make The World A Better Place

So many people fear change. The economy slips and they fear the worst. They lose their job and they fear that they will never get another one. Looking at it from another perspective, without change, we can never move forward. Change is Good!

What happens when the economy slows down?

Companies that have survived for years even though the products and services they offer are inferior to others are the first to go. Those who survive do so because they are forced to strive to deliver greater value to their customers. When the tough times pass, as they did in the Great Depression, the country comes out of a tough economic period stronger than ever before because it was forced to embrace change.

If you want to know how to change the world for the better, don’t look to the government for help. Look within. Sure, it’s important to take a stand and vote for the candidates you think are most dedicated to bringing about positive change, but it’s even more important to look within, to the greatest power for change in the known universe: yourself.

That probably sounds like an absurd statement – that you are the greatest power in the universe. It’s certainly not meant to make you feel egotistical. Only a narcissist thinks he’s the most powerful person in the world. But in a very real sense, you are the greatest power in the world, because only you can change yourself.

There may be a higher power standing right behind you, but until you acknowledge your personal power to change yourself, you will not be able to tap into the greater power that can help you change the world for the better.

Take this for example: Let’s say you’ve been working the same job for years. It pays the bills and you enjoy the respect of your colleagues, but it doesn’t satisfy something deep down inside. It feels safe, though, so you stick with it because you fear change. Then one day out of the blue, you lose your job. Fear is the first emotion you feel. It’s natural, but you needn’t let it be your master.

When Franklin D. Roosevelt became President of the United States in 1933, it was the height of the Great Depression. Fear was everywhere. It was Roosevelt who said the immortal words, “The only thing we have to fear is fear itself” during his inaugural address. Many people believe that those stirring words alone helped lift America out of the Depression.

Remember those words when change comes unexpectedly. Don’t let fear paralyze you into going backwards.

Remember that Change is good and use change as a springboard to launch you forward. Do so and you will find all the power you need to change yourself and the world. That’s how to change the world for the better: embrace change, believe in yourself and let’s try to heal the world.

It Changed My Life Forever . . .

I was having coffee today with a long time friend of mine. . . . Wait, sorry to digress but . . . If you’re over 50 years old you use the term “long time friend” and if you’re under 50 you use the term “old friend” . . . just thought I’d let you in on some inside information .

Anyway, back to my story. So,my long time friend gets to talking about something that happened to her when she was in her early 20′s and it was such a poignant memory for her that she looked at me for a moment and said ” It Changed my life forever”. I can’t say what it was out of respect for her privacy but I didn’t see it as powerful an event as she did and I certainly didn’t see it as a ” Change my life forever” moment.

Wow. . . “It Changed my life forever” !!! That’s heavy stuff.

Her statement got me thinking in terms of my own life. I never really stopped and thought about events that were powerful enough to “Change my life forever”. After taking some time to think about it I actually did come up with 6 major milestones that could be considered “It changed my life forever” moments but then again I also had plenty of small ones that did also.

I sat down and started to make a list of moments in my life that stood out and this eventually made me aware of many moments that I forgot about. It was an amazing session and it’s still going on as of this moment. What’s interesting is, some of the Changes moved me forward and some appeared to move me back and sideways but it always turned out ok.

I’ve been learning some very interesting things about myself and I also became aware that each change event had no clear beginning and no clear ending. They seem to overlap and blend.

Everything in our lives is affected by Change every single minute in every single day. . .

How we view the Change and its effect is the key to success in your professional and personal lives. Let change flow by without acknowledging it or tag it as an “It changed my life forever” moment. It’s really your choice.

I’m finding that this exercise has been very emotional for me……Try it.

Take any moment in time where you remember a Change that happened . Write it down and then do the following:

1-Track it . . . .Take it forward as far as you can. See how far one change moment affects future moments. See how they’re related and connected.
2-On this journey remember the people and what effect they had or still have on your life. Think about how you felt…..Feel the experience.
3- Do it with what you would tag “It Changed my life forever” moments and minor change moments as well. You’ll be very surprised about what you’ll find especially with those minor change moments.

Everyone views change differently. Your ” It changed my life forever” moment could be someones “I don’t remember that event at all” moment. After examining your change moments I do think that you’ll find that in the long run “Change is Good” and it’s not as bad as you thought and You’ll probably come away feeling very proud of yourself.

Good Luck
Best wishes

So You Think I’m Obsessed With The Concept Of Change?

So you think I’m obsessed with the concept of Change? . . . .Part one

My blog is all about change . . . What’s important to me now is to tell you how I define , feel about and embrace change.

Please forgive me for a little bit of self promotion: I own the following trademarks “Change is Good” “Loosen up Change is Good” “Loose Change” and “Change By The People”.
I own these trademarks for all apparel ; accesories ; All “Bags” i.e. back packs, gym bags etc ; All drinking vessels and cups. . . . .You can see the start of it on my new ecommerce apparel / success support network forum website at www.changebythepeople.com . The why and how of me owning them will come at a later date if anyone is really interested.

Today my life is totally immersed in the concept of change. Why? Why am I so obsessed with the concept? I have experienced mostly “challenging” change in my life over the past 4 years. Up to that point my life was all about success, onward and upward. I rolled over and through change like nobody could and change never had a thing on me. It tried but my attitude and self confidence was impervious. Today I still refuse to believe that “success’” has walked away from me and I refuse to let Change have its way with me. It was great to me for over 54 years. I’m bent on winning and I won’t give up.

What is the definition of Change? My totally favorite definition is “The process of becoming different.” Incredibly simple. Right? So what’s all the fuss?

I still get excited about Change. To me Change is about second chances. It’s about getting up in the morning and starting all over again. It’s knowing that I have a 50/50 chance of things working out the way I want them to. The way I see it you only have two choices when it comes to Change. You can only pick one of two doors to open and walk through . . . .

Two doors only . . . . Door #1: says “Pain/Rich,Famous,Happy (embrace change and be flexible and nimble) Door #2 says: Pain/Broke, invisible, miserable ( fight it and deny it access)

Of course the “pain of change” in both cases is different for everyone. It runs from mildly annoying to devastatingly crippling.

To me the phrase “Change is Good” is about Attitude, Positive Expectancy and Hope . I use it as a metaphor to remind me to stay positive and to also remind me that tomorrow is another opportunity to start all over again.

The older I get the more I realize the impact of Attitude on life. It’s all about Attitude. We have the freedom to decide what we will do when Change knocks on or breaks down the door. We cannot change the inevitable. Change is coming ! We embrace it and play the hand we get or fight it and totally turn our life upside down. It’s your attitude that will decide which road you go down.

I believe strongly that Life is 2% what happens to us and 98 % how we react to it. The Good and Bad News? It’s your choice.

More on this subject another time . . . . .

Good Luck
See you on the open road
Best Wishes

Your Change Mission. . . Surviving Another Day

Success is not about one particular “thing”… It’s not even about two, three or five “things.” Success is about a journey. Your personal journey. It’s about fear. It’s about tears. It’s about laughter. It’s about triumph. It’s about setbacks.

You are the director of the movie of your life. That means you have the power to change anything you want in your life. You have the power to move mountains from one scene to another. You have the power to be who you want to be.

There is one catch. . . you must believe, truly believe, in yourself.

Let’s take a look at the success in your life. Remember a situation and close your eyes and feel it. Look at a real simple one first. Can you honestly say that when you started that particular journey or project you expected it to fail? I highly doubt it. The truth is you had to expect to win more than you expected to lose and there might have been a little luck, being in the right place at the right time or other favorable conditions.

The reality of it was that most of it was that you expected to succeed, to get it done, to make it happen.

Expecting good things to happen to you and expecting victory is about self respect and confidence in your yourself. Positive Expectancy is about attitude. It’s about this kind of belief:

“No matter what happens, no matter how brutal my reality is, I will Prevail;”

“I will be OK;” “I will succeed;” ” I deserve success;”

With this attitude, the beautiful thing is, you are allowed to screw up.

You are allowed to make mistakes. You are allowed to get knocked on your butt from forces beyond your control. All this could happen to you BUT, and this is a huge BUT, you must have full faith and confidence in yourself that you will get to the other side and be ok. Maybe Bloody and Beat up but you will survive another day.

The person who lives with Positive Expectancy knows how to turn setbacks into new beginnings and sees change as an opportunity to get another chance to do a do over.

That person knows that they always get a free pass to start all over again tomorrow…always.

Positive expectancy is not about being a super person and getting everything right all the time. It’s about being a human being who understands that life does suck at times and that life is not fair. You may hit the proverbial brick wall at times but you always know that you will be ok and that you will find a way to learn from the setback, change your circumstances , and get up and try again…and again and again and again.

Expect Failure You’ll Get it. Expect Success You’ll Get It. It’s Up To You. It’s That Simple.

Good Luck!!!
See you on the open Road
Best Wishes,
Barry
